Cervical Spondylitis
Cervical Spondylitis
A general
term for age related wear and tear of spinal discs.
Spondylitis
is common and worsen with age. This condition is often used to describe
degenerative arthritis(osteoarthritis) of the spine.
Symptoms
- Pain areas- In the back, legs, thighs and buttocks that worsen with standing, neck and shoulder.
- Muscular- Muscle weakness or muscle spasms.
- Also common- Headache or sensation of pins and needles.
Treatment
In many cases,
no specific treatment is required. If symptoms occur, treatments include
medications, corticosteroid injections, physiotherapy and sometimes surgery.

- Warm compress, ice packs and physical exercise

- Physical therapy
Medications
Analgesics,
non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, muscle relaxant, steroid and local
anaesthetic.
Surgery
