INTRODUCTION
It is a nutritional disorder, where a person becomes bulky and overweight. Due to excessive Deposition of fat in the body. Obesity is caused by over eating more food than the body can consume.
DEFINITION
Ø Obesity can be defined as an excessive body fat which increases the risk of medical Illness and premature death.
Ø Obesity may be defined as a condition in which there is an excessive amount of body fat.
Ø It is also defined as an abnormal growth of the adipose tissue due to an enlargement of fat cell size or increase in fat cell number or combination of both.
RISK FACTOR
AGE: - Obesity is most common in middle age, but can occur at any age and generally increase with age.
Sex: - Studies has shown that man gain weight between 29 to 35 years, while woman gain weight during 45 to 49 years of age.
Unhealthy food eating behavior.
Lack of physical activity.
Health condition.
Medication.
Stress.
Genetic.
SOCIOECONOMIC FACTOR
In developing countries it can occur only in high socioeconomic group.
GENETIC FACTOR: - It may be transferred to generation to another generation.
A very small excess of calories in habitual can lead to large accumulation of fat.
EATING HABIT
Western style dietary patterns with more meat and processed meat, sugared drinks, sweets, refined carbohydrates or potato have been linked to obesity
DRUG – The use of steroids oral antipsychotic drug and insulin
Worldwide Problems
IN 2016,39% Of adult 18 years and over (39%) of men and 40% of women, where overweight overall about 13% of the world
